Guido Frings advises clients and leads defences in all areas of criminal law, focussing almost exclusively on white collar crime. The majority of his cases involve accusations deriving from crises in companies, such as insolvency and balance sheet offences. Other core areas of his work include the fields of criminal law relating to corruption, taxes and offences against property (fraud and breach of trust).
Guido Frings represents individuals as well as corporations and organisations. He has handled matters all over Germany. Based on his great experience in representing clients in criminal matters, Guido Frings regularly advises companies on issues related to compliance, internal investigations and relations with regulatory agencies.
Biography
Guido Frings was born in Bielefeld in 1964 and studied law at the University of Hamburg. After he passed his first state law examination in 1990, he worked as legislative assistant in the law department of the University of Rostock. In 1993 he began his legal traineeship in Hamburg and completed his second state law examination in 1995. Until 1996 Guido Frings worked for a commercial law firm in Düsseldorf. Since then, he has been working as a defence lawyer in criminal cases in Berlin. In 2002 he became a certified specialist lawyer for criminal law (Fachanwalt für Strafrecht).
Memberships
Frings is a member of the criminal committee of the Deutscher Anwaltverein and the Vereinigung Berliner Strafverteidiger, the local professional association.
